Baylor Family Medicine at Prosper Opens For Business
Baylor Family Medicine at Prosper has opened in a 4,700-square-foot facility in the 16,000-square-foot Eagle Crossing II, a mixed-use development located at 861 N. Coleman in Prosper. Dallas-based Lee Design Group, under a contract with Health Texas Providers Network, designed the medical space. Eagle Crossings II was constructed by Crossland Construction Co.

U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)
The SBA helps Americans start, build and grow businesses. The SBA is independent agency of the federal government to assist small business. The SBA overseas the SBD centers throughout the US. The SBA web site provides extensive information about financial assistance, counseling, contract opportunities, minority programs and more.

Collin Small Business Development Center (SBDC)
The Collin SBDC is a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration, the State of Texas, and Collin College. Through this partnership, one-on-one, confidential consulting is provided at no charge. Low cost workshops and seminars are scheduled on topics that are essential to business success. The Collin SBDC helps clients connect to approximately $6 million in small business loans every year. The SBDC provides free, consulting in business planning, strategic planning, human resources, marketing and promotion, financial analysis, and accounting.

SCORE
SCORE classifies itself as "Counselors to America's Small Business" and is a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and their counseling services are available at the Collin SBC. SCORE is headquartered in Herndon, VA and Washington, DC and has 370 chapters throughout the United States and its territories, with 11,200 volunteers nationwide. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate time and expertise as business counselors.

North Texas Small Business Development Center Network
The North Texas Small Business Development Center (NTSBDC) network serves the needs of established and start-up small businesses in northeast and north central Texas. It is a partnership program between the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Dallas County Community College District. The regional office is located in the Bill J. Priest Campus of El Centro Community College, just south of downtown Dallas. The organization has offers training and counseling for government contracting, international business, risk management, and technical assistance. Their website has a lot of useful links to federal, state, university and private programs.

Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB)
A Historically Underutilized Business is a business that is at least 51% owned by an Asian Pacific American, Afican American, Hispanic American, Native American and/or American woman. The state HUB Program facilitates the use of HUBs in state procurement and provides information on the state’s procurement process to minority and woman-owned businesses.
