Prosper is living up to its name, ranking first in the Dallas Business Journal’s 2010 Fastest Growing North Texas Cities List (page C10). About 2,250 new people moved into the town between Jan. 1, 2009, and Jan. 1, 2010, according to data supplied by the North Central Texas Council of Governments Research and Information Services. Given the increase to its base of 7,100 residents, Prosper grew nearly 32 percent, far more than the second fastest-growing town of Lavon, which posted an increase of 13.3 percent.
